Hello David and Robyn,
My name is Cathy and I just returned from an amazing trip to Peru. I was lucky enough to randomly book the 8 day Cusco package through SAS which included the 4D/3N Inka Trek. First and foremost, I must say how impressed I am with the quality of service, professionalism of the staff and genuine sincerity of the tour guides and porters. The food was AMAZING and you truly have a very hardworking and dedicated staff. I will be sure to recommend SAS to my friends and colleagues.
Muchos gracias !! for a great experience.

“Hands down the best tour group to trek Macchu Picchu”
I've already sent multiple people with SAS on my recommendation and they all come back like I do: Singing their praises!
All of the trek companies basically offer the same package (hiking with food provided along the same trail), to the details really matter. Here is where I believe SAS is a cut above:
--Food: I really believe we ate much better than any other group I saw during our trek. On top of that, no one in our group was sick, despite the fact that they're cooking for a bunch of white people in the Peruvian mountains. That is impressive in and of itself, the each meal was unique and delicious.
--Group dynamics: They really try to have each tour be a group of people that will get along and enjoy each others' company during the trek. The guides are great, at least 1 per 8 hikers, and really add to the group in their own ways.
--Porters: They take good care of them and actually make them part of the experience, twice we all stood in a circle and introduced all of ourselves; we were a group making this trek together. The porters are hard working and encouraging; when you arrive into camp the tents are set up and they have hot water waiting for you to wash your face.
The Inca Trail Hike is an incredible journey and a lifelong memory. SAS Travel is the perfect way to experience it.
Hi SAS Travel,
Few days ago we finished a nice adventure in the mountains for me and my friends it was an incredible tour, Hilbert did a great job , serious, historical information of the archeological sites. The Inca trail is an amazing trip.
Awesome in every single way, would not change anything, meals were superb, coordinator Valerio he is very charming man, the porters are nice people and very friendly. Thanks, I would recommend SAS Travel, we made this adventure with the best company..

Completed the 4 day Inca Travel with my daughters yesterday. Delivered everything it promised, giving this over 50 an incredible life lesson ending in spiritual paradise of MachuPicchu.
Even the landslide which required some re-routing did not phase our excellent guides Rueben and Danny who ensured the changes proceeded smoothly while keeping a diverse but fun group entertained. This professionalism was evident in the way they assisted, but not rescued, me in overcoming the Dead Women's Pass on Day 2 in difficult conditions. (yes, I did choose the wet season)
Highly recommended for all who like a challenge.
Hola,
Just a quick message to say thank you for a fantastic four day hike to Machu Picchu with your company SAS Travel on 7th Nov 2011.
Your porters and guides were always so helpful, friendly, patient and professional.
I really liked the way the guides sat with us every evening, ate this is something I found quite unique about your tour compared to other tours I had done in South America the guides wanted to make us feel at ease and share a laugh or two about the days events!
The tour was so well planned out and no doubt you have heard many times the variety and quality of the food you provided was world class.
I would like to take this opportunity to highly recommend the two tour guides we had in particular Hugo Santos. He was an amazing guide so patient and kind to me when I found it difficult in places especially dead women's pass on the second day. He was with me every step of the way with a big smile on his face sharing words of encouragement with me........his kindness will never be forgotten.
Keep up the good work SAS !
I will continue to recommend your tours to fellow travels who ask for advise..
Thanks again, Nora Lennon.
You wonder: Why SAS Travel? Why not any other (and less expensive) company?
My boyfriend and I asked ourselves that same question when looking for an agency to do the 4 days/3nights Inca Trail tour. We ended up choosing SAS Travel, and did not regret it.
We had an AMAZING service with SAS Travel. The guide was so great, he shared so much of his culture with us, he was so attentive. The food was amazing, the "chaskis' (porters) incredible!
Did you know that some chaskis from other companies don't even sleep under a tent?! They are left to sleep in mountain caves, or outside under the rain!
SAS Travel has an amazing team of chaskis, which were well equipped with warm clothes and good shoes, and had a tent to sleep under.
When doing this kind of travel, I consider it "responsible tourism" to go for a company that takes care of its employees!
We were unlucky and had very bad weather on our trek. The 2nd day of the tour, where it had rained for 2 days straight, and where after passing the highest point of the trek some were almost in hypothermia, the chaskis took good care of us, and even went as to serve our diner directly in our tent. They were amazing, and our guide took a good and safe decision, as to our security.
In short, SAS Travel was the reason of our amazing trip, and made all the difference in the world. And this, is definitely priceless.
Wanted to post a big Thank You!! to our guide Aldo, head porter Milton, and everyone on the SAS team for making our trip to Machu Picchu such a fantastic adventure. The entire experience could not have gone smoother and we were in amazement at how great the service was from booking to the guide to our fantastic porters and cooks. A+ service and experience.
read moreHilbert and Eder took us on special routes away from the usual crowds of people on the trail. Hilbert brought us on a real authentic adventure, telling us stories and giving us insightful information about the ancient Inca civilization. We were able to visit many important incas sites on the way that most guided expeditions miss!
It was a brilliant experience with a guide who has a world of knowledge yet knows how to have fun too, I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone!”
One more time my friends from Cusco city..thanks for this great experience in the mountains...

We had such a great time on the Inka trail. Our guides Angel and Erik were the best; so informative, so patient and great companions! The food was wonderful and plentiful and the happy hour with tea and popcorn was the perfect relief during the late afternoon rain. We will be reliving our experience for months and years to come. Thank you SAS for you professional service with a personal touch! And thanks again Angel and Erik for leading us through the Andes!

From Quebec, Canada, Claude and Danielle are saying hello to SAS travel, especially to Saul and Oscar and the rest of the crew (Ricardo, Mario, Alberto and others). We would like to thank all of you for the wonderful trek we did last september on the Salkantay trail. It was for us an amazing experience. I thought that I was going to lose weight doing this but with the great meals we had, it didn`t happen. Saul and Oscar were absolutely great guides and very pleasant persons. Thanks again. Last question for Saul; Do you put your pictures on line? By the way here in Québec it is almost winter and we are getting ready for the cross country ski season. Blessing to all of our friends in Peru.

I would like to recommend this company SAS Travel Peru to everybody in the world. One more time thanks my brother mountain man..!

Just wanted to say THANK YOU! My friends and I had an amazing experience with SAS on our Inca trail. We could not have been pampered enough. The staff (Freddy and Ramirez) were very knowledgeable, helpful and fun. I will recommend you to everyone that I know.
Cheers,
PS Our rafting and Sacred Valley tour were unforgettable as well!
SAS had the job of looking after our family of 19.
12 went on the 4 day Inca trail and 7 did the 2 day trail. SAS also supplied the Sacred Valley and Cusco city tour for all of us.
In every way possible SAS exceeded our expectations and supplied excellent service. The guides went overboard to help everyone of us enjoy our Cusco/Machu Picchu holiday.
On the 4 day Inca trail Fred & Oscar did a marvelous job.
I can't thank SAS enough.
I highly recommend them to anyone visiting Cusco.

The Inca trail and Machu Picchu never would have been the same without Hilbert. He is the perfect combination of so many things! He is knowledgeable about everything from the history of the area to the different fauna and flora we would see. He provided spiritual insights but also made us laugh hysterically. He let those who wanted to move a little quicker go at their own pace but he also made sure everyone met up periodically throughout the day so we always felt like a unified team. He took care of everybody’s needs, which is not an easy task with a large group of people of different ages and backgrounds. Hilbert helped everyone feel comfortable and at ease. He is patient and incredibly caring. I was so sad for the trip to end! As difficult as it was, I’d do the climb again any day if I knew Hilbert was going to be my guide.
Thanks Hilbert...a big hug from USA.
We loved our guide, Roberto, and the Trek - fabulous! The food was awesome, and we were well taken care of by the entire staff. If you can hike 47 miles, do this Trek! It's a lifetime memory with Machu Picchu as the big bonus at the end. Have the donkeys carry almost all of your stuff so that you can just enjoy the hiking.
read moreMany, many thanks for providing us with one of the most challenging, but rewarding and memorable, experiences of our lives. The trek and the sight of Machu Picchu early in the morning of the last day are forever engrained in our minds.
We would especially like to thank the two guides that encouraged us along the way. Angel was informative and instructive throughout the entire trek. We were impressed with his desire to impart his pride of local heritage. Eric was always there to support and encourage the group. Both men have a wonderful sense of humor and joviality. They should both be commended for their abilities and the warmth they showed toward our group. The food was fantastic- thanks to Jorge's magic. We both hope that Ronaldo will continue his studies- we think he will make a fantastic guide. Many, many thanks to you all for the trip of a lifetime.
I recently returned from the 5 day/4 night Salkantay trek and I can honestly say that my only regret is that the trek wasn't longer. My guide, Isaac, definitely made this portion of my trip to Peru the experience of a lifetime. His deep understanding and knowledge of the trail, flora and fauna, and Inka life and history vastly exceeded my expectations. If that wasn't enough the food, prepared and served by an amazing chef and his assistants, was delicious from start to finish. Especially for a vegetarian who is unfortunately used to bland and tasteless meals. So it was a pleasant surprise to be served one tasty and filling plate after another throughout this journey. Not only will I be recommending SAS to my friends but I hope to be back next year for another amazing experience discovering the beauty and rich history that is Peru.

I want to especially acknowledge our group's guide, Javier. We were on the trail from Sept 3-7, and Javier was a large part of why our group enjoyed it so much. He is patient, intelligent and full of knowledge, humorous and kind. Please do give a note to him acknowledging his exceptional service. He really shines. Muchos gracias !
