Roger, our tour guide made every moment so special full of knowledge sharing, laughter, and positivity. He brought us on special add on hikes and excursions that were incredible. Oscar, our chef, prepared literal feasts for every meal that were all delicious, unique, and nourishing. Other tour groups were salivating when they saw the food we were served. Elias, quickly became our friend with morning tent wake-ups with cocoa tea, his huge smile, and incredible service for camping and meal time. All of the staff was incredible and made our experience feel like “glamping” in the most beautiful Peruvian Andes scenery.

Jonathan, made planning this trip so easy with quick responses and extreme flexibility when we had to reschedule to 2022 after the 2020 surprise pandemic interrupted plans.

It should also be noted that during our trip there were strikes going on that led to blockades around Cusco, making it difficult to get to the trailhead on day 1. However, our SAS team was the only tour company that found a way for us to begin the trip on time with commitment and creativity. We are so thankful for SAS!!

Amazing 4d/3n classic Inca trail.!
I just finished hiking the 4d/3n classic Inca trail with SAS and would absolutely recommend this company. Communication was great from start to finish - even before my friend and I booked the tour, Jonathan was extremely responsive and helpful in answering all of our questions.
On the hike, our tour guide Deyviss was extremely knowledgeable about the history and culture of the Inca empire. He was also very accommodating for the varying fitness levels in our group, even helping me carry my backpack when I got really bad altitude sickness on the second day. Elias, the porter team, and the chef were also phenomenal, running ahead of us to ensure everything ran on schedule.
Overall, this was an amazing experience and I really enjoyed hiking with Deyviss and team!

Sacred Valley plus Short Inca Trail.!
Just finished the Sacred Valley plus Short Inca Trail 3 Days/ 2 Nights Tour. The tour was incredible and more than covered everything in the prospective. But what really made the trip was the office staff and the guide. The personal attention from the Cusco office staff Jonathan as he setup the trip just as we requested including getting tickets to Huayna Piccho Mountain at the time we wanted and arranging for airport transport and Covid testing. I had a few special needs due to age and allergies, and he made sure that they were addressed.
Our guide for the 3 days, Danny Ramirez, was both an expert guide with a deep knowledge of Inca and Spanish culture as well as the local flora and fauna, but also a personal coach, encouraging me forward yet giving me space to enjoy some of the most spectacular scenery on the planet. It was a real privilege for me and my family to spend 3 days with him. Thank you.

Program Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco - Train ride to Aguas Calientes town. Night at Inkaterra Hotel.

Pick-up from your hotel at 06:20 am. Van transfer to Poroy Train Sation. Train ride consists of spectacular views in this wonderful land of the Incas, amazing landscapes of mountains and valleys, Inca farming terraces on both sides of the valley, snow capped mountains and sub-tropical jungle near the / Ceja de Selva. From Pachar the sacred Vilcanota river will be our companion until arrival at Aguas Calientes town located at 2,040 masl town known as well as Machu Picchu Pueblo. A SAS Travel rep will meet you at the train station and accompany you to Inkaterra Hotel just near the train station. From about 2.30 pm you can enjoy free time wandering the local markets, the Botanical & Orchids garden, Plantation of Tea or Hummingbird spotting areas at the same Hotel. For tough trekkers we rec a walk to Mandor Reserve it takes 3-4 Hrs Later relax in the hot and cold springs pools in the evening at the hotel with amazing surrounding areas. Meals:Dinner a la Carte is served, Enjoy the lobby and Bar. Accommodation: Hotel Inkaterra.

Day 2: Early Bus to Machu Picchu Citadel - Guided Tour- Extra time- Train return to Cusco.

After breakfast at the Hotel, bus ride for 30 minutes to Machu Picchu Citadel. A guided tour in Machu Picchu “The Lost City of the Incas" The Old Sacred Mountain without a name, the City of Peace. takes approx 2 Hrs and then you have plenty of free time to explore for photos or optional hikes eg: walk to the Inca Bridge, part walk to the Sun´s gate, walk to upper look out point, If you want to climb Huaynapicchu mountain please note that you must reserve and purchase a Ticket in advance (Passes need to be booked in advance). Other optional walks to: Temple of the Moon; (3-4 Hr) - Intipunku - the Sun Gate; (1.5 hr -Inca bridge; (1 hr) All these walks are without a guide, are clearly signed, oriented with arrows and easy to find. At 15:00 Hrs bus ticket down to Aguas Calientes town, you can pick up your belongings at Hotel and walk to the Train Station to board your train to return to Cusco. From Poroy Station a van to Cusco town (Plaza San Francisco) or your Hotel.

Bring your original passport
Be ready for your transfer from your hotel 45 mins before the train departure so as not to delay the transfer of other passengers.
In case you have booked as a student. Bring your ISIC student card at the time of paying your remaining balance at our office in Cusco, and bring it to Machupicchu to show it at the entrance of the Park.
Your entrance ticket to Machu Picchu is valid for the 2nd day.
If you're interested in climbing Huayna Picchu please note that you must indicate us at the time of you registration
Peru Rail luggage allowance is a small day-pack
Vistadome train will be arriving to Aguas Calientes before mid-day.

Terms & Conditions

1.- Final Payment of your Tour.- You must pay the full balance of your tour 1 month before the date of your tour departure using any of the payment options above. (you need to add the 5% credit card commission or 6% PayPal commission. OR pay in our office in Cusco 5-3 days before the day of your Tour in US$ cash.Pay Online. Click on: HOW TO BOOK & PAY boton, enter your reservation code, then you will see the details of your tour and name, digit the amount to pay including the 5% card fee. Once we receive your payment in full we will send you a further email with your confirmation and details.
2.- Passport and documents.- Bring your Original Passport, (and ISIC card if applicable ) to our office on arrival to Cusco. Presenting the original passport at the hotel will avoid you to pay the national sales taxes (18%). This is charged to all Peruvian citizens. Nationals are not exempt to pay this tax.
3.- Student discount.- The student US$20.00 discount for use of student cards is regulated by the site and INC itself, not SAS Travel. All student ISIC cards are validated by the control of the park and only accepted if you scanned a clear copy of your valid ISIC card through with your deposit at the time of booking and it was confirmed. A Youth Travel card is not accepted by the control.
4.- The Cost of the tour.- It is based on Double occupancy. There is an extra cost for a Single room. (Complementary dinner and breakfast are included). Small group tour.
5.- Changes to schedules or dates of the Tour.- It can only be made if there are availability permits on the alternative date and when train tickets have been finalized this incurs a further administration charge of $30.00 pp plus to cover the extra cost of the Train Tickets available. At times a change of date may only be possible with an upgrade and so the difference in price would also need to be paid by the client.
6.- Cancellations by Client: Should the client wish to cancel, cancellation charges will be imposed. These are calculated from the day written notification is received by SAS Travel confirming your Tour. The charges are shown below:
a.- Cancellation of tour once you have received a confirmation of tour incurs a loss of the booking deposit US$ 300.00 per person (non-refundable booking deposit.)
b.- Cancelation of tour 60 days before the date of tour departure incurs a loss of 60% of total tour cost
c.- Cancelation of tour 59 to 30 days before the date of tour departure incurs a loss of 80% of total tour cost
d.- Cancelation of tour 29 days before the date of tour departure incurs a loss of 90% of total tour cost.
7.- Ticket to Huayna Picchu mountain.- Huayna Picchu permits are limited, when they are sold out the 2nd option is Montana Machu Picchu Mt (Both have extra cost.)
8.- Travel Insurance.- It is strongly recommended that it be considered mandatory, which includes cover, under most circumstances, against the loss of deposit or cancellation charges. Please note that no reimbursements are given when cancellations occur or for any unused services.
SAS Travel will take all reasonable care in providing service to our clients to avoid accident, illness, loss of personal property and will only employ suitably qualified staff to our clients to avoid accident, illness, loss of personal property and will only employ suitably qualified staff. We accept responsibility for the actions of our own employees. SAS Travel cannot however be responsible for any action or event that was unforeseeable or unavoidable. We also cannot be responsible for improper acts by clients or other third parties. You are totally responsible for your own personal property and rented equipment.
SAS Travel does not take responsibility for additional costs due to unfavorable weather conditions, natural catastrophe, strikes, accidents, illness, injury, loss of personal items, etc. It is the clients responsibility to carry insurance to cover these types of events. We reserve the right to modify or cancel the program due to any of the unforeseen conditions listed above.
When Train services has been suspended for strikes, social protests and became unsafe to travel or weather floodings, deluges circumstances, the tour will be reprogramed for a next available day according to the similar schedule and let you informed.
