Roger, our tour guide made every moment so special full of knowledge sharing, laughter, and positivity. He brought us on special add on hikes and excursions that were incredible. Oscar, our chef, prepared literal feasts for every meal that were all delicious, unique, and nourishing. Other tour groups were salivating when they saw the food we were served. Elias, quickly became our friend with morning tent wake-ups with cocoa tea, his huge smile, and incredible service for camping and meal time. All of the staff was incredible and made our experience feel like “glamping” in the most beautiful Peruvian Andes scenery.

Jonathan, made planning this trip so easy with quick responses and extreme flexibility when we had to reschedule to 2022 after the 2020 surprise pandemic interrupted plans.

It should also be noted that during our trip there were strikes going on that led to blockades around Cusco, making it difficult to get to the trailhead on day 1. However, our SAS team was the only tour company that found a way for us to begin the trip on time with commitment and creativity. We are so thankful for SAS!!

Amazing 4d/3n classic Inca trail.!
I just finished hiking the 4d/3n classic Inca trail with SAS and would absolutely recommend this company. Communication was great from start to finish - even before my friend and I booked the tour, Jonathan was extremely responsive and helpful in answering all of our questions.
On the hike, our tour guide Deyviss was extremely knowledgeable about the history and culture of the Inca empire. He was also very accommodating for the varying fitness levels in our group, even helping me carry my backpack when I got really bad altitude sickness on the second day. Elias, the porter team, and the chef were also phenomenal, running ahead of us to ensure everything ran on schedule.
Overall, this was an amazing experience and I really enjoyed hiking with Deyviss and team!

Sacred Valley plus Short Inca Trail.!
Just finished the Sacred Valley plus Short Inca Trail 3 Days/ 2 Nights Tour. The tour was incredible and more than covered everything in the prospective. But what really made the trip was the office staff and the guide. The personal attention from the Cusco office staff Jonathan as he setup the trip just as we requested including getting tickets to Huayna Piccho Mountain at the time we wanted and arranging for airport transport and Covid testing. I had a few special needs due to age and allergies, and he made sure that they were addressed.
Our guide for the 3 days, Danny Ramirez, was both an expert guide with a deep knowledge of Inca and Spanish culture as well as the local flora and fauna, but also a personal coach, encouraging me forward yet giving me space to enjoy some of the most spectacular scenery on the planet. It was a real privilege for me and my family to spend 3 days with him. Thank you.

Moderate Trek Descending to the Colca Canyon.
Usually the group is composed of 10 passengers. Please note that when the group is over 10 trekkers we will organize a 2nd tours guide to assist the group and cover the radio of passengers so the group can go smoothly.

ITINERARY:
Day 1.- Depart from Arequipa. (Pick up from your Hotel) 4 hours drive to Chivay where the hike start. 3-4 Hrs moderate walk. Located at east of Cabanaconde at Pampa San Miguel, trail to San Juan Chuccho (one of the larger villages along the river) begins.
Day 2.- Consists of hiking on fairly even terrain through the small villages of Tapay, Cosnirhua and Malata before crossing the river and into the lush green village of Sangalle Oasis a mini-paradise along the Río Colca with hot springs and waterfalls.
Day 3.- You wil hike 3-4 hours uphill to the rim and arrive in Cruz del Condor, time to enjoy the Vuelo del Condor, after mid day return to Arequipa. (Optional version of this tour is to continue to Puno.

Program Itinerary

Day 1: Arequipa, Cabanaconde, San Juan de Chuccho.

Between 03:00am to 3:30am we collect you from your Hotels in Arequipa to travel to the Colca valley. We travel by bus approximately 4 hours to Chivay (the main town of the Valley). Here we stop for a late breakfast and to stretch our legs and then we continue towards Cabanaconde 3,287mts (approx 2 hours) After lunch we begin our 3- 4 hour descent to the floor of the Colca Canyon. We will be able to appreciate the diverse Andean and tropical vegetation and also the geological formation of the Canyon, from the formation period of the mountain range of the andes. Once at the heart of the Canyon we will cross the San Juan de Chuccho suspension bridge to arrive to the town. Here we will spend the night at Hotel Colibri -Private room with bathroom and shower. Time to interact with the locals and enjoy their hospitality and dinner.

Day 2: San Juan of Chuccho - Sangalle (Oasis)

After breakfast we re-commence our trek climbing gradually to the andean village of Tapay which is located at 2,900 mts . We will visit Coshñirhua and Malata Villages located at 2,600 mts and then we will visit an authentic church and way of life of the locals which are proud to preserve their traditions in a very rustic environment. Their customs lie very close to the "Pachamama" "mother earth". You will appreciate very beautiful landscapes, ancient farming terraces to cultivate potatoes and other crops, snow-capped summits and a variety of flora and fauna. At 13:00 pm we descend again to the Colca River and arriving to the Oasis or Sangalle Valley 2,100 mts, relax at the swimming pool. After lunch there is time for exploration of the abandoned mines, waterfalls and opportunity to fish for trout in the Colca river, time to relax and enjoy this beautiful site. Accommodation in private room at Hotel Tropical.

Day 3: Cabanaconde - Chivay - Arequipa.

At 4.00am we start our 3 hour walk out of the canyon.. Once in Cabanaconde we will have breakfast at (7:45) and then head off for the Cruz del condor. We will stay for approx 1 hour here, to be able to appreciate the majestic flight of the Andean Cóndor. Soon we will continue on to arrive at Chivay at arrival 10:30 am. Once there we will have the opportunity to visit the thermal baths of medicinal waters with a temperature of 35 to 40ºC and opportunity for lunch in Chivay. At approx 1.30pm we will return to Arequipa arriving approx 17:00 pm. Transfer to your hotel.

Terms and Conditions: Colca Canyon 3 Day/ 2 Night Trek
1.-You must pay for your tour in full by 12:00 noon, 1 day before your departure.
Payment of your balance in the Cusco SAS office is requested in cash. US $ is easier but if you choose to pay in soles the rate charged is generally 3.5 soles = US$1 You can withdraw US$ or soles from the many ATM machines. You can pay in Arequipa if you are arriving to Cusco after this tour.
2.- SAS Travel does not take responsibility for additional costs due to unfavorable weather conditions, natural catastrophe, strikes, accidents, illness, injury, loss of personal items, etc. It is the clients responsibility to carry insurance to cover these types of events. We reserve the right to modify or cancel the program due to any of the unforeseen conditions listed above.
3.- SAS Travel will take all reasonable care in providing service to our clients to avoid accident, illness, loss of personal property and will only employ suitably qualified staff. We accept responsibility for the actions of our own employees. SAS Travel cannot however be responsible for any action or event that was unforeseeable or unavoidable. We also cannot be responsible for improper acts by clients or other third party for example Bus companies. You are totally responsable for your own personal property and rented equipment.

5.- Cancelations by clients:
Cancelation of tour within 48 hours of departure incurs a loss of 30% of total tour cost if you are changing the tour to a alternative day or 50% of the tour cost for total cancellation.
Cancelation of tour on the day of departure incurs a loss of 80% of total tour cost.
6.- When paying the balance, there will be a * 3% comission if you choose to use travellers cheques and a 5% comission for use of credit card.
