Day 2: Sacred Valley Tour to visit the famous Pisaq Market and Inca town, Urubamba, Yucay,Ollantaytambo

At 8.30am transfer from your hotel in a tourist bus, we travel from Cusco past Saqsaywaman & Tambomachay, over the mountains toward the Sacred Valley. We descend 1500 feet to the valley floor of the sacred Urubamba river and the village of Pisac where we will visit a traditional market and you can buy some local souveniers. We then drive up to explore the extensive ruins of Pisac with stunning views over the valley. On the guided walk into the Citadel of Pisac you can observe temples, residences, altars, channels, carvings, tunnels/caves and the famous Intihuatana “The hitching post of the Sun",

For those who would prefer to spend more time in the market instead of visiting the ruins, advise your guide so he can organise a time and place to pick you up when returning through the market.

We continue on to Urubamba where we stop for you to buy lunch. A further 30 mins drive takes us to Ollantaytambo surrounded by the sacred mountains, where we will again discover the magnificence of the Incan constructions, the amazing temple of the Sun, enormous blocks of rock perfectly carved and polished, stone water fountains, stairs, terraces and the beauty of the local people in their traditional dress, all surrounded by the sacred mountains and Valley of Patacancha and Willoq.
On our return, we quickly visit the famous church and archeological site in Chincheros, arriving to Cusco at about 6.30-7:00pm.

Day 3: Maras Moray and Salt Mines guided tour. Inca's agricultural laboratory OR Rainbow Mt Tour. Hotel Marqueses

Visit CHINCHERO: Located 28 kilometers from Cusco and surrounded by patchwork style fields of exquisite natural colours. Chincheros is a charming town, with colonial style constructions and was a major agricultural center during the Tawantinsuyo. One can appreciate the stone walls with trapezoidal niches that provide the setting for the traditional market, where they still practice bartering. The Chincheros women can always be recognized for their very distinguishing clothing and braided hair. The famous chuch and arquelogical site here requires the tourist ticket.

MORAY: a further breathtaking 20 kms drive with the beautiful snowcapped Chicon and Veronica mountains in the Cordillera Vilcanota as a backdrop we continue through to Moray. In Moray we visit “ the Inca agricultural greenhouse or laboratory”, consisting of four platforms amphitheater style or. Has a depth of 150 meters, the overlapping concentric circular stone rings widen as they rise. It was an experimental place to study the adaptation of plants to new ecosystems.

MARAS / SALINERAS: located 7 miles from Moray at altitude of 3, 380 m is a small village, as a model of a miniature city. Famous for its salt mines, made up of about 3000 small wells with an area average size of about 5 ms ². These were already exploited since Inca times as a means of economic exchange and securities. Very interesting to see how the salt is recovered from these mines and the lives of those who work here. Return to the Hotel Overnight. Marqueses Hotel. (Double or Triple private room)

Day 4: Lares Valley Trail with Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu . Small group trek.

Cusco – Urubamba – Pumahuanca Valley – P´acchayoq - Cuyoc campsite
Our private bus leaves Cusco at 05.40am for a scenic drive through the Sacred Valley, passing through Chincheros and stopping in the town of Urubamba, (2,700 masl) for a brief toilet break and the chance to buy any last minute snacks, water, etc, Small packed breakfast is served here. Departing Urubamba around 07:15, we have a further 20 minutes drive to the beginning of the Pumahuanca Valley, land of the famous white corn crops and the Chicha, the Inca´s favorite corn beer. This is the place where we will meet our horses and handlers, (arrieros), and trek staff. All of our required equipment will be carried by mules and horses. We commence our hike through this beautiful polylepis qeuñas Valley in the Andes with a gentle switchback ascent on a gravel path from 2,800 mt to 3,600 mt with stunning views of the surrounding valley and mountains. 4 hours walk to the Inca complex of Inca–Kancha for a guided visit, and where we stop for our first lunch. Our expert cook will indulge you with delicious Peruvian dishes. Time to relax or a little nap, Continuing afterward along the way you will be able to observe native trees of qeuñas, eucaliptus, then we reach a small Andean community of P´accha, spectacular mountain landscapes, herds of llamas, alpacas, sheeps and goats. Then final 2 hours further we will reach a series of small waterfalls and beautiful campsite named Cuyoc, .. our first campsite at 4,000 masl.

Day 5: Cuyoc – Pumahuanca Pass – Cuncani Campsite

Early wake up at 06:00 am with a cup of coca leaf tea, then a good breakfast with quinua panqueques. At 07:00 am we recommence our trek with scenic views of Chicon, San Juan and Veronica mountains. Surrounded by a native forest for a challenging 5 hours climb along a dirt road with some stone steps, in some parts there are zig zag switchbacks toward the Pumahuanca Pass located at 4,740 masl (A sacred Apacheta is a series of piled stones, made by pilgrims as a symbol of gratitude and respect to the Apus), Once we get to the pass we honor the top of this mountain with coca leaves as is the local customs. Enjoy the amazing views of part of Moray, Maras and Salineras. Then we are ready to descend for an hour along a stone road with a nice view on both sides, arriving to enjoy lunch near impressive lakes by which we rest. After our lunch we walk for 2 more hours mainly dowhill and enroute we will meet some local campesinos (people of the local village) in colorful costumes as is traditional with all villages around Lares. Impressive landscape views, mountains, flocks of llamas and alpacas. Cuncani is the major district in the area. Campsite at Cuncani community, located at 3,750 masl Cuncani is also very famous for their textiles produced with ancestral weaving techniques; weavers will offer their work. Private van to the Hot Springs where we enjoy Dinner and Camp.

Day 6: Cuncani Campsite , Lares Hot Springs Van to Ollantaytambo. Train to Km 104 Short Inca Trail hike. Aguas Calientes

After our breakfast 3-4 hours drive in our private transport to Ollantaytambo town, Train to Km 104 to start our 2nd hike - The Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. 6 hours walk to Intipunku, Machu Picchu, time to enjoy the views, bus to Aguas Calientes town, Night in a Hostal. Dinner.

Day 7: Aguas Calientes 2100 masl – Machupicchu 2400 masl – Ollantaytambo – Cusco 3400 masl

Early breakfast (05.00am) before taking the 5.30am bus directly to Machupicchu arriving around 06.00am. **Optional for those still able/wanting to walk!: leave 04.30am and walk up to Machupicchu arriving approx 06.00am but only if you really want to hike in the dark so have torches but remember you do not get into Machu Picchu earlier than people who take the bus as they also arrive around 6am to the entrance with the guide.

In Machupicchu it is still a 15 minute walk from the drop-off point to the famous views from the South Zone of the farming terraces at the end of the Inca trail. Enjoy the early tour of Machupicchu with your guide who will unfold the mysteries of this magical site, showing you the very best of it! Your guide will spend about 2 hours relating to you interesting and amazing stories, explaining temples and special sectors. Your tour of Machupicchu should finish between 10 and 10:30am then you have free time to take your photos before the 10:30 crowds arrive.
At approx 10.45am the guide leaves you at the trail head to to climb Huayna Picchu or if your booking was done too late then for the Machu Picchu mountain permit . so best to book well in advance .
Also the Inca bridge or Sun´s gate are other good walks in that order!. We provide a Buffet lunch in Aguas Calientes after the walk down from Machupicchu. If you prefer a box lunch to have in Machupicchu you must sign up for it in the office before your trek.

Day 8: Adios Cusco

Adios Cusco Free morning then transfer to the airport for your fly to Lima or Arequipa-Puerto Maldonado ( Extension Trips ) or Trip to the altiplano of Puno to see the highest navigable Titikaca Lake located at 3,950 m and continue to Bolivia ( Copacabana, Sun`s Islands, La Paz , Uyuni`s Salar )
